Yes there are. My baseball is so tarnished it makes me want to cry. Michael Young the 3rd baseman for the Texas Rangers is the epitome of a clean athlete. He is also an iron man, harking back to the days of Cal Ripken. He plays day in and day out with no rest, and continually puts up great numbers. He has had 3 days off this year, for the first time in a long time. 3 days off in a span of 162 games is something to look up to. Not to mention his dedication to family, the community, and his fellow teammates...all exemplary.
I still have faith in athletes. Eric |

Alberto claims he got the steriod in question from tainted beef.
The trace detected is small. Found after a rest day on this years Tour. Nothing on any other day he wore the yellow jersey. His name isn't one normally known in the cheating circles. I do know that his time up the big climb this year was something like 1:45 less than Lance did when He smoked everyone up climb. Truely Superhuman? Regardless most top atheletes will push the edge to gain an edge. All of Them. In All Sports. Otherwise they wouldn't need testing! Compare Barry and Tiger Ages 20 and say 36 for Bonds and 3yrs ago for Tiger. And Roids increase Hand/Eye speed in big ways. Cyclists usually train at altitude, syphon out some blood, repeat as often as possible, and reinsert before big race. Very hard to detect. But effective. Muscle mass doesn't help these guys so a positive roid test for Alberto seems weird. I like his tainted meat story. Crappy food in France so his chef sent for Spanish Cow. I love it. I believe he wins clean and is an exceptional rider. Best of his era. As for Lance, so many guys he beat were documented cheaters and with all their training plus some Juicey Juicin still couldn't beat someone supposedly racing clean? Really. Sorry but it's as believable as BP and NOAA claiming all the Gulf Oil is gone. Not very believable. IMO Peace |

LMAO Joe! ;D Tainted meat, hmmm, don't know about that one but I truly believe these athletes are not stupid enough to be taking performance enhancing drugs of any kind, they know they will get caught eventually, and wouldn't that really suck if that time was a gold medal moment!!! ;) |

I'm not sure if I'm too cynical, but you get a lot of publicity for breaking a world record, especially the 100m one, so why knock a large chunk off the record time in one go when instead you can knock off smaller time chunks and do it several times. Why else would you slow down? |

you are right.that's exactly what happens.
but this is what i can't understand.we are talking about so extreme physical tests that when breaking the previous record which was also hold for years(or even decade)they also preserve this strength and self confidence that this can be lowered easily next time according to a practise timing??!! i mean this could make sense perhaps in national records but in world records? what else could give such confidence except maybe...a coffee? :D |

I was thinking last night that maybe both the New York Giants and the Chicago Bears needed to be drug tested. It was hard to believe while watching the first half, that these were two NFL teams.
Things got a little better in the second half (drugs wearing off?). Oh well, my teams doing well. |
