Title: Important ? about 5 hr energy... Post by Chris H on Oct 24th, 2010 at 9:34pm
If you have 2 episodes in a day and are using 5 hr energy each time, does that give you 10 hours of energy?

Sorry, but I can down one and go to sleep. It may be built up sleep deprivation or that I've gotten so used to caffeine, but I don't even get a buzz from it. I know non clusterheads who have trouble sleeping afterwards, but it does nothing for me other than to knock down a hit.

Me too. I add a little espresso to my coffee maker to beef up my Folgers but it never keeps me awake. I've been acclimated to caffeine for decades. God I love coffee.

A little twist on a quote from Ben Franklin:
"Coffee is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." (He originally said "beer.") |

He should have said single malt whisky. The blended concept was invented by the beast to divert people from the really good stuff. |

Ah, now here's a man that I could talk to! I don't drink Scotch, but my husband does (I drink Middleton very rare Irish Whiskey when I drink). As to single malts, Arberlour is excellent, Balvennie is good. Brands that I know he's tried, Dalwhinnie, Dalmore, Glendronach, Glenfarclas, Glenfiddich, Glenlivit (he got 21 year old for his birthday this year), Glenmorangie, Lagavulin, Lagavulin, Macallan, and Talisker. I told my daughter when she started drinking, "don't drink the cheap shit, all it will give you is the hangover from hell). |

The good stuff does have a tendency to burn a little cleaner, as it were. Less toxic exhaust. ;)

Now your really making me want to reach for a drop of Lagavulin or Macallun. It's been a while but I can just taste it thinking about it.

Your husband is a man of excellent taste. I noticed that Laphroaig is missing from the list, which is one of my favourites along with the Glenmorangie sherry wood, although it's one that people either love or hate. Middleton is one I've heard of but never seen, yet. I know that it has lots of fans, including Tom Clancy. |

Husband is not as thrilled when it's cured in sherry casks. He likes it cured in oak casks (although Arberlour is double cured in oak and sherry casks, but the finish is in oak casks).
Middleton is smooth and easy on the stomach. It's the only thing that I can acutally drink that won't make me ill. I usually drink it straight or on the rocks. |
