Title: Benedryl-Melatonin question
Post by Kevin on Nov 18th, 2010 at 1:19pm
This cycle is killing me.  Got into the Dr. finally yesterday she has me on Pred taper, 500 dep x 2.  I tried talking her into Verap, she said try this first.  Then Verap if this doesn't work.
Last night I had HAs every freaking hour. I have had a 4 shadow sitting there tormenting me all morning (still here).
I have melatonin ordered, i need to pick it up.  Benedryl, is that OTC?  So the question is how much of those two together would you recommend?  I am so tired and wore out, not even sure what to do anymore.. Did imitrex injections 2x a day (3 megs each) for 3 days TRYING to get some sleep and work done, now I am wondering if these are rebounds I am dealing with..  THANKS for any suggestions.

Benedryl I have no expierance with..

Melatonin was a life saver for me.  buy it OTC any drug store about 8 bucks for 60 tabs. I take 10mg 1 hour before bed and have been sleeping like a baby. Sometimes takes a couple to a few days to start working. Try drinking a Red Bull or Monster energy drink for the shadows, chug it down works great for many here.

Good Luck..

In cycle I take up to 9mg of melatonin and 50mg of diphenhydramine HCl (Benadryl). Don't know if I could take more as I've never tried.

Last week I was taking 9 mg melatonin and 75 mg benadryl (but you might want to start with 50 mg benadryl).  And yes, benadryl is non-prescription--it is an allergy medicine that also causes drowsiness in most people.

Yes, generically an allergy medicine. Specifically it's an antihistamine.
