As you all know.. yesterday I was off work to be with my Niece (34 yrs of age) during her Breast Cancer Surgery... Well... to our regret, the Surgery have been postpone..

The Surgeon advised us early yesterday morning that Shanna's latest CAT Scan (taken last Friday 12/10/10), appeared to show that the Cancer Cells have spread beyond the intended surgical area. It seems that cells are not showing up behind the breast bone, in the upper stomach area, more of the Lymph-Nodes than first diagnosed and also the left lower jaw.

Once the Radiologist read the test, he advised that he didn't think what is showing up in her lower jaw is Cancer Cells so more test and a biopsy was ordered.


We spent our day yesterday taking more x-rays, another Cat Scan and another MRI w/dye.. Her Oncologist, Surgeon and Radiologist will meet to go over the results of yesterday's tests... and a decision will be made.
So next Wednesday (December 22, 2010) Shanna will either start Chemotherapy or have Surgery.

Last week I shared with Shanna something that my Pastor's Wife (Canaan's First Lady, Barbara Tatum) had shared with me.. It really have help to bring courage to her heart, and a smile to her face... Yesterday she repeated it to the Surgeon, when he asked her if she was okay... I knew that she truly was okay.. She told him that the BIG "C" in her life was CHRIST and after that was CONQUER and that CHRIST would CONQUER her little c, which is the cancer.

Thanks for sharing that Ruthie..all I can add is "AMEN!"  Just shared that with my friend who I posted about earlier.  She's going through her 2nd biopsy next week too and that brought her encouragement.  She sends her prayers as do I.

I'm glad it encouraged your friend... Not only am I a 27 year Breast Cancer Survivor, my Pastor's Wife who sent her the phrase is a 7yr. Breast Cancer Survivor..

I am sssssooo thankful for each of you.. and so glad that you are all part of my life...
