EXIF data is embedded in images from most digital cameras which gives a load of information about the camera, the settings used to take the picture, etc.

For the last photo above, the details can be seen at:

START PRINTPAGEMultimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or RegisterEND PRINTPAGE

The camera type is shown, as is the date the picture was taken, which shows as being in Jan 2005. But if you
ve the date set incorrectly in your camera then you'll get the wrong date.

Some cameras have a GPS built in so that you also get the exact coordinates that the photo was taken too.

And great pictures too - thanks for posting them.

And probably the biggest surprise gift - our son-in-law Sean bought Jeanette a guitar. She recently expressed the desire to learn to play. If you knew Jeanette, you would know that when he saw a pink guitar, it was destined to be hers.

Are you anywhere near this Brian or Barry T. ?

Brian,

Yikes !!! What a soggy mess...  I understand this is the worst flooding in Queensland in more than 50 years...  I hope your feet are dry and the power is still on to keep the beer cold.

Howzit where you live and any word on the Bundy distillery?  I'd hate to see the flow of overproof disturbed.

Take care,

V/R, Batch

I'm well north of the major flooding but we still copped a lot of it and I wasted heaps of time and diesel pulling people out of places they shouldn't have been. Morally, ethically and logically I should have left them but they were waving 6-packs so what's a bloke to do?

Best bit was the drunk camped up next to me who wouldn't believe the river was rising but when he rolled off his cot and went sploosh he changed his mind. Never seen anyone sober up so quick as when he saw the size of the swamp lizard cruising by.

As to our mate BarryT, he lives a long way west of here but he's a bit of a cyclone magnet himself so we wish him well for the season.

At least the pubs still have beer, for now anyway, so I'm off to stock up.

Cheers.

Edited to addThis link doesn't appear to want to work but I will leave it here anyway.
To put the flooding over east in context, the statement was made last night on the news that the area flooded is larger than France and Germany Combined.

Over here in the west one of our coastal towns Carnarvon was ravaged by flooding a couple of weeks ago & they are still cleaning up, I just heard on the radio that they are expecting another flood within the next 24 hours.
I drove through there Friday last week on our way back from Perth & it was heartbreaking to see the devastation.
Roads had been washed away for kilometres & added another 4 hours on that stretch of drive, 14 hours on the road is a long haul, got home to a cyclone alert that never eventuated but has caused the rain that is going to effect Carnarvon again.

Cheers
Barry
