Title: Weight gain/ need help to lose! Post by Dalmay on Jan 14th, 2011 at 4:23am
Good morning everyone!!!
Since I was diagnosed in nov 09 I have gained 30 due to different treatments and decrease in ability to work out on a regular basis. Does anyone have any advice on what I can do with ch to lose weight? Especially since I am concerned that once I find a new dr. I will be put on more mess with the side effect of weight gain. |

Not even the munchies, huh Brew? ::)
Seriously, Dalmay, it's unfortunate that most of the meds do seem to promote weight gain. The only one I know of that doesn't (besides clusterbustin' and that is worth a look-see) is topomax. I have managed to slow the weight gain but not eliminate it. Hey, I get to turn my wardrobe over, that's something. Blessings. lance |

Yeah, between lithium and just plain getting old, it gets tougher and tougher to fight the battle of the bulge. The old Nike commercial, just get out and do it, and try to stay consistent with whatever you're doing .....in between the housework, yard work, job, spouse, kids, bills, life etc.... :(...sigh,,,

I had lost 75 pounds prior to my first ch attack. Then due to trying over 40 different meds for ch I gained it all back plus some. Now I am swimming laps in a pool to try to get rid of it again. SUCKS! I feel your pain.

So it sounds like a give and take- less headaches may mean weight gain. I guess I will do/deal with anything if I can reduce/stop my pain.
Thanks for the honesty and positive attitudes!! |
