Title: daytime and nighttime clusters are different
Post by jan_M on Jan 31st, 2011 at 11:35am
Has anyone experienced this before.  My nighttime clusters go away with oxygen (thank God).  However, I am getting ones during the day or at least they act like a cluster but the oxygen doesn't work.  I get a stiff neck with the daytime ones and they last a lot longer than a nighttime one.  Could these daytime ones be clusters or are they altogether a different type of headache?  If so, what?

I find that I have two separate types of headaches.  I know the difference.  I get the same symptoms with my clusters whether or not they hit at night or during the day.  I do find that I am getting more migraines during the day due to the insane weather that we are having.  This is the first time in years that I had to deal with two totally separate headaches at the same time.  My Migraines will NOT respond to O2 (O2 will only work with clusters) I have to use Fiornal for the migraines.  Imitrex will not even work on the daytime migraines.

Blessings,
Sami

It's a good question to ask your neuro. My experience has been night hits are worse than day hits, if only because they tend to build while I sleep through the warning signs. Then when they do wake me up, they are already at peak intensity. Day or night, they are no fun. Talk to your doc about it. Blessings. lance

Night timers are always tougher for me too. I dream an attack was starting, dream I was firing off the E-Tank to abort it, dream it wasn't working! By the time I wake up beasty has a foothold and the abort times double and triple.

I have the same day and night but usually night. If I dont survive the first attack during early hours, it will happen again very soon prolly on my way to work or something. Its hard to imagine handling migraine and CH at two different times.
