Title: ER visits and Dihydroergotamine Post by wimsey1 on Feb 15th, 2011 at 8:09am
We've talked about this in the past, mostly mentioned as an aside, but lately we seem to be getting mosts from those new to CHs who are going to the ER and are being treated ineffectively. O2 high flow is the best if not available at home, but I had success interrupting a cycle with intravenous dihydroergotamine. Has anyone else had this experience, and do you think it is worth adding to our emergency kit when the hits force us to the ER? Blessings. lance

I got two nice 3-day breaks after being chronic for right around 18 months at a stretch with the IV DHE-45 treatment. I was right back to the trough 36 hours after it was done.

My experience, too, Brew. But I will say I enjoyed the break. I just wanted this out there for those who need to go to the ER, and could maybe get there doc to give them a standing order for something that actually works a bit. Blessings. lance
