Title: strange thing Post by Pomodoro on Feb 27th, 2011 at 10:07am
I used to get hit one hour after getting to bed then 3 am then 6 am and once more at 1pm.
Now tonight I wake up as usual but no pain. Just great agitation. Like a hit but without the pain. Stayed awake for about 45 minutes before sleeping again. Again at 3 same thing. I feel the need to drink strong coffee and walk but no real pain at all. Strange isn't it? It's been a month now that I'm in cycle. I think this might indicate that it's going to end soon. Have you ever experienced something like that? |

No...when they end I just wake up one morning having slept the entire night through with no incident and that's it.

I was trying to find the thread but could not. A day or 2 ago on an unrelated thread, several of our more knowledgeable research members piped up about non painful CH attacks. Where they'd wake up at the same time as their usual wake up attack, with the droopy eyelid, constricted pupil, runny nose, the feeling an attack was imminent....everything but the pain.
Not real common but others share your experience! Under the misery loves company heading, at least your not alone! ;) Joe |

I've written before about the habituation and adapation our bodies experience as it relates to repeated and regular stiumuli...we get used to it. It could be as simple as a response trigger to the time of day/night...it's time!...or it could be physiologically linked to the circadian rhythms regulated by our hypothalmus...or it could just be a low level hit. I think all are in play at the moment and just to be safe, I would encourage treating this event as one would a regular hit. Wouldn't hurt to do that, and if it is a low level hit, it discourages the beast further. Just my thoughts. lance

Good thoughts, Lance. After a week of no headaches I awoke to the pulse of one starting and then it immediately self aborted - "weird" I thought and it scared the c**p out of me. So I added Kudzu to my "Batch's supplements" that very morning and have been fine since then. Just didn't want to take any chances.
