Title: I think my cycle is over Post by Brandon31 on Mar 10th, 2011 at 5:16pm
I am coming off a five week cycle and I still have a minor headache every morning and my head hurts when I bend down or do anything strenuous. Is this a rebound headache or will this go away with time? I have never had any pain after my cycle is over, normally once it's done it's done.Any feed back is appreciated. thanks

When my cycle is almost over, meaning I go off the prevent meds a week or 2 too soon, I'll get minor headaches a couple times a day. They mimic CH as far as location and side effects, droopy eye, runny nose, duration etc. They're so minor I either pop an excederin or ignore them, not even worth 02!
Great to hear the beast is done with ya this go round. |

My cycle is only over becaue I'm on Topamax 200mg a day. However, my cycle season is as at an end, and I will be tapering off starting in 2 weeks. My cycle lasts from late October to end of March. I have a new twist this year, as I now get Migraines during the day, but luckily, plain old Migraine stuff works (the tylenol/aspirin/caffeine kind). I have "triggers" out of cycle, like you're mentioning, that I am keeping track of: dyhydration, extreme stress, extreme temperature changes, shellfish, sometimes wine (even 1 or 2 glasses). That's my list so far, but it's expanding. I would start to keep a journal of what you're doing when a shadow comes on and start looking for a pattern. Hope that helps.

Brandon,
Try adding the vitamin D3/fish oil, etc.... supplements to your daily routine (from the post "123 days pain free and I think I know why"). That may help take the edge off the Beastie's exit. I find that I've had similar pain at the end of my cycle and sometimes it's because of muscles that have been abused by the pain of the beast. See if you can con a friend into a serious neck and shoulder rub, or get a massage by a certified/licensed therapist, that sometimes helps me, it doesn't do anything for the CH's unfortunately. -Gary |
