OK... I'll give you a brief up date...

Following diagnosis and a 6 month 'medication holiday' due to my over indulgence in any form of pain killer that I could get my hands on ..(all legal)!!

I started verapamil and sumatriptan tablets...some success with the verapamil but I can only tolerate 240mg a day any more and I spend a lot of time picking myself up off the floor after I have passed out!

I have had a rough time in March and April with a fair few bad nights and unfortunately bad days- a noticeable change after commencing verapamil.
I have visited my GP and requested the sumatriptan injection (and O2- but that's another issue!!!) instead of tablets, actually saw him during an attack...
He said yes!! but needed permission from my neuro..ok ..I get that...contacted neuro... she was happy, this was the 18th March, revisited GP on 24th and 31st March but as there was still no permission from the neuro he still couldn't give me the injections!!
I was also on the phone daily to the neuro secretary who advised me the letter had been sent!

Still with me.....told you I'd be brief!!

FINALLY yesterday...12th April the receptionist at my GP surgery verified the letter had been received (on the 4th April!) scanned and was in my file...great I thought!
"can I now have my prescription?" I ask
"oh no" she replies "you have to go on a phone consultation list and discuss this with the Dr, the next available slot is Tuesday 19th April"

To say I am slightly angry is a little bit of an understatement and had I not been tied up with work today I would have been staging a sit-in at the surgery....I am absolutely gob smacked that this has taken a month.

My next line of attack is to go to the surgery tomorrow and sort it once and for all!!!!!
