I talked to jerry earlier and he was on his way to his dad's house. His dad isn't doing very well right now. Jerry asked that we keep him and his family in our thoughts and prayers.

Thanks all. Dad got bronchitis last fall that he never really shook over the winter. It developed into pneumonia and a bad infection that diabetics tned to get in their legs when nurse gouged a chunk of skin off hiis leg. The pneumonia is under control, and the infection is responding, but the meds they put him on have made it nerly impossible for him to swallow and are causing hallucinations. to top that off they gave him Ambien to help him sleep, and he sleep-walked all night.

He had barium x-rays of the throat and esauphagus today to see if they can deterine the swallowing prob.

I really appreciate the prayers. Since he is the primary caretaker of my mom, who has Parkinsons, I'm hoping he bounces back pretty soon. We don't wnat to have to institutionalize them, but thinigs can't continue as is for much longer.

Hey Jerry. It can be such a frightening time whenever a parent enters a critical phase of life, at any age. And this compounded by your dad's role as primary caretaker to your mother. Are you alone in this support and intervention, or do you have siblings with whom you can share the burden of prayer and decision? Still, you know from the responses here you are not alone spiritually. Please be assured you are in my prayers as well, and I look forward to hearing how this resolves. God bless. lance
