I have owned many cars but I am proud to say I have never owned any of those. 8-)

My first car was a Gremlin (#6 on the list). Bought it for $200. 10,000 miles and a brake job later, I sold it for $175.

And the Nissan Cube is one of the most awesome looking vehicles I've ever seen.

Um, you were being faceitious, right Bill?   :o

The AMC Matador doesn't look that bad at all though.  Kinda racy, in fact.

I wonder how the Cube makes the list, but the Scion xB doesn't?

Came real close on the VW thing. Then I sobered up.

Gremlin and Pinto? Guilty.

If it weren't for those pesky things called "car payments," I'd buy one right now.

And you KNOW that I luurrrve you! :-*

I remember my best friend in High School was about to get her license. Her parents traded in the mortifying "station wagon" and came home with an AMC Pisser, er I mean Pacer. She about collapsed. it was 2-tone lime-puke green. Awful car!

I did take exception to them including the Subara brat as one of the ugliest cars. I wanted one of those in the worst way!

I've never owned any of them so I guess I can claim to have some taste in cars.

For anyone in this corner of the world I sit in the Holden (Commodore) camp, although I've owned two Fords (Escort and Focus).

I've always thought the AMC Pacer resembled a goldfish bowl.

They don't mention the Dodge Aztec, which someone once said looked like a horse in the act of defecating.  I can never see one without thinking of that now, thank you very much.

Best,

George

Caught me with the ugliest -- brand new '74 Pinto right off the showroom floor with full pinstriped manuel 4-speed sport package and larger 2.3 engine.  The other affordable choice would have been a Vega.

On the street, out from under the bright showroom lights, lime-yellow is really puke with a hint of booger.  More disenchanting was the first year for 5 mph bumpers, adding front and back bookshelves.

Along with exploding rear end, the Firestone 500 tires had steel belts that broke through to shred the tire.  I lost two before they were recalled.  Five years, showroom to junkyard.

I had a candy apple red Pinto.  Wasn't a bad car for me.  Drove the hell out of it, even used it for off roading!

Nice! Horrible! I love this stuff.

For me, the 1951 Packard is about as ugly as a major America car gets. I know. My father drove one for several years. START PRINTPAGEMultimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or RegisterEND PRINTPAGE

Here's my pick. I called 'em "Missouri Cars" when I was a kid. Not real sure why...

I also had a mud brown Pinto wagon that left me stranded all over the Nevada desert.

i think "K" cars were about as bad as it ever got for american made cars. i often thought "k" cars were a monument to ones bad taste in automobiles.

My dad traded our 1957 Ford retractable for a 1965 Rambler station wagon.

OMG Potter.  If I had been your mother, I would have divorced him.  The 57 Ford retractable was a gorgeous car, but I'm surpried the Ford Edsel didn't make that list.

Had an aquamarine/white top '65 Rambler Classic 660, they were square as box, but fun.  As a first car for a 16 year old in 1971 for $165.00 it was mine and freedom.  Three-on-the-tree was fun delivering pizzas, but had to fix a jammed linkage often, then a new transmission.  The seats reclined flat back for taking in Fritz the Cat at the drive in, or having 13 friends pile in at the pool hall and head 2 miles to McDonalds.  Got a couple years worth.

I think the wipers worked by vacuum.  Bare bones car, no wheel wells.

My dad had a two-toned '57 Ford Fairlane when we were a one-car family, then went to an El Camino for work and a Rambler Ambassador for a family car.  Don't recall the Rambler lasting long.

Agree, a very ugly car!  My parents bought one that was totaled by someone running a red light while my sis was driving.  The equally ugly replacement was totaled by a drunk running a stop sign while my mom was driving it.  Neither car made it to it's first b-day.  You forgot to mention, the creepy talking the car computer did.  In my mind those cars were not only ugly, but also cursed.  (neither my sis or mom has been in an accident since)

I dont know what this car was but all the  boys in a friends family drove it. We called it the "rhino". Multiple paint jobs, uglee. To use the  wipers the driver and passengers had to pull strings in sync. Seriously, ask Joe!
