It's a beautiful sunny day here in England. Easter Monday in fact. Makes one want to go outside and enjoy the sunshine. Has been a cold, dark winter, and this 4 day weekend has been fantastic, long coming, and warm.

Where am I? In doors, in the dark. Not totally dark, I have a curtain open. Went to the store earlier for some food, and that was about all my head could handle today. The cluster I had this morning triggered a headache, and now to much light hurts. I'm hoping eating something and taking some painkillers will help.

Apart from clusters, I get headaches a lot, nearly daily. And migraines too, at least once or twice a month. But the doctors and I are working on them. We have a plan.

Yeah, right. Some days I have hope, other's, not so much.

Today, at this moment, not so much.

I hate staying in on beautiful days. We don't get enough in England as it is. I tell people I meet I'm really a vampire, that I shun the sun and it harms me if I get too much of it. That's why I mostly stay in, behind closed curtains when it's sunny and beautiful, when I'd much rather be at the beach. Or out riding my bike. But, my head is pounding, and walking across the room hurts, so what is a girl to do?

Close the curtains, lock the doors, hide from the world and recede into the darkness on a bright day.

I know exactly what you mean. I can't even look outside when it's sunny outdoors. I'm in Canada and often joke with my friends that I wish I could move to England because they have less sun.

I can remember being young and enjoying sunny days at the beach and wonder if I ever will again...it is sad to think about at times but I try to stay hopeful. It's so hard sometimes.

I feel your pain; hope you can get out to enjoy the sun soon!

The sun on the snow must be murder in the winter! The worst thing about winter in England is the short days, which means lots of darkness, which equates to lots of headlights. I hate headlights. In England they have a habit of flashing their high beams at you to say thanks, or to say it is OK to pull out, or whatever. So you are constantly being flashed. And to a migraine sufferer, you are constantly being stabbed in the eyes with red hot pokers in the winter.

OK, enough moaning. The summers in England are really nice, and I do love the changing weather. I grew up in Iowa, and got fed up with 4 long seasons.

We have 2 weeks of spring, 2 weeks of fall, 3 months of hot and humid, and 8 months (which feels like years) of snow and ice!
(I complain about the weather, but one gets used to it.  ;))

Actually, I only have 3 more days to call myself an Iowan.  Move to Indianapolis, Indiana counting down!

Good point Lettucehead, well presented. Two long seasons, and two short ones. One always felt like summer was going to last forever, then the season would change, and just when winter was lasting forever, it would change. But spring and fall never lasted long enough for me.

I always loved Fall and Spring. I adore the changing weather in Iowa, and I love it in England, you just get it 5, or 6 (or 20) times a day here some days. I do really miss harvest time in Iowa though, no place on Earth beats it. I haven't been home for 10 years, is time I go back for a visit.

I grew up in Fairfield, down in the SE corner.
