The best advice my mom ever gave me was nothing she ever said, but by leading by example.  Because of her, I know how to live on next to nothing and make it seem like everything is just cheeky. [smiley=grin2.gif]

My mom was a hoot.

In matters of a more intimate nature my mother told me "a drop is as good as a bucket" . . . and "that stuff doesn't just fly across the room" . . . . she was great with innuendo - LOL.

When I was about 12 I had an autograph book.  My Mom wrote in it - "Don't choose your friends by outward show - the feather floats, the pearl lies low"

No idea if it was her original thought or if it came from something she had read - whatever, it was a valuable piece of wisdom.

"Absence makes the heart grow fonder." Grandmother.

"Your friends should trust you, even though you may not trust them." Mother.

My mom, unlike me, was a bit violent...she once told me "if a man hits you once, he'll do it again I don't care how long it takes - the trick is to grab the balls and yank and squeeze till he's a blubbering crying baby on the floor, and when he comes down to his knees, and he will, grab his shoulders and bring your knee up as fast and as hard as you can until he's out cold or you can break his knees while he's asleep with a bat...you can practice on your brothers :-? - I don't think I saw my brothers for a while after that.

Truth is it works like a charm...unfortunately. :-/
