From the time I was a little boy, when I first heard the engines off in the distance and begged my father to take me...to today...more often than not, this has been my summer Saturday night place to be.

I've crewed race cars from Pennsylvania to Florida to Indiana...the last time I counted I'd been to around 50 different short tracks around the country...and there is no place like this place......

Yeah....I'm a closet redneck.

Just curious. Have you ever heard of a driver named Rainville? lance

You're fortunate to be from the breadbasket of racing during the time of moonshine bootlegger and legend Junior Johnson.  Had to be a thrilling time.

When I was a kid and visited my cousin in Dearborn MI, he lived across from the Ford test track.  It had a wall around it, we would climb on the roof of his house with binoculars and could see a portion of the track when cars were racing around.  He became an engineer for Ford, retiring a few years back.  Loved the cars all his life.

Can't think of a better place to spend summer weekends.  Race fuel smells good!!!! :)

We have a 1/3 mile asphalt track about an hour from me where I used to spend a lot of time, but I've been lucky to get there a couple of times a year the last few years.  Love the smell of burnt gas, oil, and rubber.

I remember a Rainville that was in charge of IMSA a good while back....that's about it.
