Of a Northern (Bullock's) Oriole at one of the hummingbird feeders. Well... you can see it well enough to identify it, anyway. ::)

The hummingbirds didn't chase it away? I've seen them be so very territorial no other bird is allowed near. And when it's a male guarding the post, only his favorites are allowed in. Thanks for the pix. lance

We love watchng the territorial battles between "fat bastard" our resident dominant hummingbird, and all visitors! Actually a pretty good pic!

We have two pair....they are beautiful and have a very distinct song. They love the oranges. I hope they don't leave like they did last Spring.

We've been having some yellow & Black bird trying to land on ours too. There were 2 the other day. One was sitting on my window pane while the other was trying to get into the feeder. I haven't stopped to look up what kind of bird it may be, has kind of a squared off tail feather.

Your Oriole's are very pretty! Ours are more of a deep orange and black.

I wondered at first if it was one of El's newly drawn pictures. ;)
Timely capture, nice profile. Helen used to know what the heck bullocks meant. |
