"The Blues" aint about bein' down...The Blues are about bein' down.... and gettin' back UP again!"
An old, and WISE, bluesman It's true for music...as well as life...and to quote Jerry Lee: ..."thaink about it darlin' ". I DO love Elvis...but JL Lewis....dayum! Information is not knowledge, Knowledge is not wisdom, Wisdom is not truth, Truth is not beauty, Beauty is not love, Love is not music Music is THE BEST Frank Zappa No worries...I'm not nuts...just goin' through a rough patch...and music...and music...somethin' to cling to. Linda throws out a big ole rope too...with a great big knot on the end. Ever also considered ch.com a big ole knot on the end of that rope? I do...and I'm hanging on.....Thank you all. Best, Jon |

I've always figured that hanging on is far better than hanging from.
Strength to you Jon.... |

Just to throw in a few golden oldies, I have to include blues influenced rockers like The Animals, Cream, Brooks Benton, Spirit, and my all time faves, The Moody Blues. Blues is the best, man. Blessings. lance

Music is, has been, and always will be, for me, a salve for the soul.
There is something to the way music flows into and through a persons soul that has the ability to elicit emotions and put tangible form to the intangible feelings that hide just out of site of the conscious mind. Lyrics that always help my perspective - Natasha Bedingfield, Unwritten: Staring at the blank page before you Open up the dirty window Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find Reaching for something in the distance So close you can almost taste it Release your inhibitions Feel the rain on your skin No one else can feel it for you Only you can let it in No one else, no one else Can speak the words on your lips Drench yourself in words unspoken Live your life with arms wide open Today is where your book begins The rest is still unwritten Go watch the cats :) *hugs* Love Cat |

My favorite recordings of the classics in my iTunes library almost all have Leonard Bernstein on the podium.
Funny how that works. |

I'm not in to rock or blues either, but the Moody Blues "Days of the Future Past" is oe of my altime favorite pieces of music. My tastes tend to run to Classical, but the way they melded Rock and Classical music in one piece is awesome. When I need soemthing heavy to deal with stuff I like Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, a German composer from early 1900's. Very Avant Guarde for the time. If I need to have soemthing peaceful Pachelbel's Canon in D cannot be beaten, with Mendelsohn's 4th and 5th Symphonies are right behind it. Bruchner's 4th with its heavy use of the French Horn can really get into your psyche if you will let it. Jerry |
