Title: Want a laugh??
Post by Linda_Howell on Jun 5th, 2011 at 6:26pm
I check the guest book about every other day or so, and I often e-mail folks there who seem to be either desperate, or have questions or need some specific help.   This one today though.. made me laugh out loud.

Quote:
have live with with Cluster Headaches for 13 years now, A Cluster Headaches is one big sines headache try sines meds every 3 hours and see for your self it will work but it want stop a cycle and the more meds you take the longer they will last. I have found a way to stop the cycle, Find a foam block that fits just right so you can lay on the effaced side you have to be able to lay on the point of your shoulder and every thing has to be strait and as soon as you fell that felling that one is coming on lay down strait away for about 5 min to 10 you have to be able to lie on you arm I find that one's the arm gets num the little man with the knife in the eye goes away it may take a day or so but the cycle will stop till next year that is, I think no I know the shoulder is the core's of Cluster Headaches and its the mussel that goes from the side of the ear the the point of the shoulder the one you can grab, The never that go into the neck around the ear get mixed up sending a pain into across the face into the side of the nose about half way along the side of the nose which in turn affect the sines then about 2 min's later bang Cluster Headaches it will take about 10 years to fell this happening. I see one lady said drink lots of water I can see why this would work as it helps the mussels clear up all the chemicals that float around in them. Maybe some one that is a doc will read this if not don't let it get you down to much you will get better one day I have lots more information if any one want to chat with me

I know what fish do in water, Linda, so thank you but I'll stick to beer.

I Emailed this lady yesterday after I read her post.

Geraldton is a major country city on our west coast about 600 mile to the south of me;  my wife's home town, we  lived there for 11 years before coming up north.

I suspect from her post that she is of Asian decent from the way it is written, Geraldton does have a large Vietnamese & Indonesian community & I would guess that she prefers their more traditional cures.

I suggested to her that she may be a little misguided in her diagnosis & treatment.

Until I hear back from her I'll leave the book open.

I see there is one from over Brian's way as well, I'll leave that one to Brian if he wishes.

Make sure you soak them in water to get rid of those nasty chemicals floating around in them!

Thanks, Linda - gave me my laugh of the day.  Now I just have to go rest my eyes a bit after reading that.

I've had CH since I was a child.   When I think back at all the things that I've done to relieve my pain.... then thought that it worked due to my cycle ending... well, I'll bet some of you have had some crazy thoughts too.

I read this person's post and, to me, it sounds as if they know the pain of CH.  They are uninformed.   I seem to recall a time, not too long ago, when making fun of them would have been frowned upon around here.

Just my thoughts...

Tinfoil hats.

And Den and Georgia already busted the Blue Cheese and Vinegar myth.  It didn't get rid of Georgia's CH, but Den had fun - oh and they ended up with a baby afterward.

:D

Cow Patties anyone?

When it hurts, we'll all try anything - at least once.

(wonder who the first guy was that picked up a toad and thought to himself "self, this is a toad, lick it and see if you can hallucinate!" .....)
Yup, they walk among us, and they breed - they ARE us :P

Hi Folks

A heads up on the young lady concerned.

I have contacted her by Email & she is not as I thought from Asian decent.

The way the post was written is because she doesn't hold a good grasp of the written word.

I know of her family from when I lived in Geraldton,
from the Emails I have got from her she has been diagnosed correctly by a well qualified Nuro & knows only too well the pain.

As Jeannie picked from her post yes the young lady is indeed uninformed, I have sent her a heap of information & links for her reference but I think with her grasp of the written word I may have my work cut out but will endeavour to bring her up to speed.

We can only but do our best.

Cheers
Barry

As for the bloke this side of the continent, he's in control, thankful of our help, and considering looking in on the Aussie site.

(Just realised I forgot to tell him about my famous beer-cure!)

We live in PA in America, and before my husband was correctly diagnosed, he too was desparate to find anything.  We met up with an Amish family during an ER visit one time.  They suggested peeling a banana, eating it, and putting the peel (skin side up) in the area where most of the pain was.  Potassium would be absorbed and help the headache. Well...maybe it helps them...but doesn't work for clusters.  Looking back, it is something that we get a kick out of, but like some of you have said; when you are desparate, you may try anything....once.

Personally...after 24 yrears of chronic-ness...a banana peel on my neck wasn't something I would try.  I'd feel like a fool.   ::)

Feeling like one and being one are two different things. ;)

Just think, if you put the peel on your neck and then EAT the banana, you are smart and being conservative! [smiley=grin2.gif]
