Title: Just started happening at age 24 Post by TiffyRose on Jun 19th, 2011 at 3:34am
It was my sons 4th birthday... shortly after the party was over I was sitting on the couch when without warning, I was struck with the most agonizing pain in my life. It hit me so hard I fell to the floor crying and writhing in pain. It lasted about 45 minutes. I wanted to die. I've never ever had a migraine before but I assumed that is what it was. Then 3 hours later it hit again, stronger than the first time. I had to keep looking in the mirror because I thought my eyes must be bleeding, they felt like they should have been. This has been happening every 3-5 hours since then, like clockwork. When I'm not praying for death to take away the pain I'm consumed with fear of the pain. I'm so tired, I want my old life back. :'(

TiffyRose,
Glad you found us. You'll find a wealth of knowledge and support on this and other boards for people with CH. Have you been doctor diagnosed with CH? Have you learned of using 100% Oxygen to abort the attacks? (you need a perscription from your Dr, and diagnoses of CH) You'll find O2 is the #1 most used attack abortive. It leaves you clear headed after the attack unlike most of the other abortives (Imitrex etc). You have a few things going for you. Primarily you have a diagnosis and that allows proper treatment. Most of the time those with CH aren't properly diagnosed for years (I myself wasn't properly diagnosed for over 10 years). Please keep us posted. Jeff |

We hear ya. We really do. The thing is, if you have CHs (something a good headache specialist needs to tell you) then while you won't have your old life back, you can learn to live a good life during and between cycles. There is help available and as bad as these are, you can adapt. Everything changes but not necessarily for the worst. Keep us informed of your progress. Blessings. lance |
