Title: Warning.
Post by Karla on Jun 22nd, 2011 at 6:54pm
Please put up your medications beyond reach if you have little ones around.  I had mine up on top of my desk hutch.  My 3 yr. old grandson crawled up on my desk and stood and reached up.  He was awful quiet.  I went to check on him and ended up calling 911.  He spent 3 days in the hospital.  He is fine now but I feel just horible.  I don't want anyone else to go through what we did.

Karla -  don't be too hard on yourself.  They move so quickly at that age and we just don't expect them to do some of the things they do.

Our pharmacist has started putting lids on things that I have difficulty opening - it's kind of a two stage thing with a push/pull motion so I don't think little ones could get into them - and yet somehow they manage.

Glad to hear he's okay now.

Hugs
Carol

When I was a kid nothing was safe no matter how well hidden. I was a closet spelunker. Caution is always best. I didn't get into any meds but I did eat rat poison when I was very little. My mom never really go over that. make adjustments and forgive yourself. blessings. lance

Yeah, what Lance said. We kept meds, bleach, cleaning supplies, all chemicals under lock and key, our house was child proof! So Jeanette went out back and ate a wild mushroom ;D Thank goodness for syrup of ipecac! Forgive yourself and move forward. [smiley=hug.gif]
