Title: water therapy
Post by byoung on Jun 30th, 2011 at 10:51pm
I am new to this website.  My husband has suffered from CH since 2003.  He is currently in a cycle that started in March and this is the longest a cycle has lasted for him.  (16 weeks so far) I saw the information about water therapy but I have a question.  It says to drink a glass of water every hour.  What size glass are we talking?  8oz?  12oz?

His neurologist is also talking about an occipital nerve block.  I'm worried about side effects.  Anything you can tell me?

Thanks for any information.

I think ball park they're talking 8 oz glasses. More importantly, what else is he using? Does he have oxygen as an abortive? I abort in 6-8 minutes using oxygen, read this link, even if he already has it, it's worth reading as HOW you use it dramatically effects it's speed  of abort:

Then look down about 10 posts to the topic "123 days PF and I think I know why". It's a vitamin/mineral/anti inflammatory routine, all over the counter stuff, that is providing relief for many on this board.

What else is he using? Imitrex injectables or nasal spray? Is he on an effective prevnt med? Verapamil, Lithium, Topomax?

Th more info you can give us, the mor suggstions w can send you back to the nuro with. Thanks for bing a goldn supporter and doing the leg work, he's lucky to have you. Welcome to the board.

He is on O2 and that does stop some but not all.  He also uses imitrex injections when O2 doesn't stop them.  He has used Maxalt but it seems to take an hour to be effective.  He also takes lithium, verapamil, and gabapentin.

Please have him read thru the O2 (oxygen) link Joe posted. There are many recent advances in O2 use for CH. Most Doctors, even specialists, are not aware of proper CH treaments.

All Doctors mean well but not all know well. This website taught me more than my Neurologist knew. Like the O2 needs to be with a NON-rebreather mask, with a bag on it. With a flow of 15 LPM minimum.

Tell him we're with him, kick the beasts butt.
