No sprinklers or hoses for us - we had a great big giant swimming pool - we had rafts anchored in it, we kids built 3 level platforms to play underwater tag on and around, and we always had to use ivory soap cause it was the only that floated [smiley=bath.gif] - ya see, my childhood swimming pool was the St. Clair River [smiley=thumbsup.gif] [smiley=grin.gif]
Who needs chlorine - we had toluene, styrene, benzene and agent orange to keep our pool clean (that would be the genetic one) ;) From May to September, it was mighty rare that any of the kids I knew actually had to take a bath in a real bathtub. Aside from the chemical spills upriver (and of course back then, none of us even knew the true danger or threat those occasional leaks and spills from the petro-chemical valley meant), it was the bestest summers any kid could hope for :) Cat hmm perhaps someday I should tell the tale of Rafts, Safety, Greg W., and a lesson in physics.... from the perspective of 9-12 year old would be shipwrights ;D |
