Casey Anthony was just found NOT guilty except for lying to the police.. slap on the hand and probably a fine..

I thought up front that going for 1st degree on a circumstantial case was bold.
As a defendant you never have an incentive to plea to 1st degree.

That said I would have thought not reporting your daughter missing for a month or so would have screamed 'yeah, I killed her'.

One thing it shows... all the shit we are conditioned with watching CSI and such is largely bullshit.  The entire field is based on very immature science. 

RIP Little one.  I hope justice is done for this little angel sometime.

Given the evidence the jury was presented I don't see how they could give a different verdict.  A guilty verdict requires evidence beyond reasonable doubt.  Just because someone acts differently than is normal does not equate to guilt.  Is she guilty?  I honestly don't know, but the rush to judge her in the media and all of the pontificating talking heads and "experts" doesn't make up for the lack of solid evidence that was not presented.  Based on the evidence given I'm glad she was not convicted because that would open the door wide open for many others being brought up on charges that are as, or even more flimsy than hers.

That does not mean I care not for the little girl.  I do, very much, but a greater travesty goes on every day in Planned Parenthood and no one bats an eye.  At most she should have been charged with post-partum abortion if one wants to be totally objective.  I'm not being insensitive at all.  In fact I'm quite sensitive to the issue.

Isn't THAT a criminal act in and of itself?  Far worse, I'd think of lying to the police. 

There in lays the issue of this.  She was not "charged" with anything related to covering up the accident.  Therefore she couldn't be convicted of it. 

Charges of other sorts could still be brought against her.  That would not be Double Jeopardy.  She simply cannot be tried on the "same" charges that she was acquitted of.

edit to add:  will they press other charges, that is the Million dollar question.

She has yet to face the court of public opinion.

Perhaps her parents will bring a wrongful death lawsuit ala O.J.

Unless her parents want no further scrutiny either.  Hard to say.

Now she's gonna be out of jail next Wed.. that's justice for ya...

She will still face another Judge... and that Sweet innocent Baby will get Justice...

I have said all along that this would be the verdict.. If the State's Attorney had not asked for the death penalty, I truly feel that the out come would have been different...

If there is a known father some where, I Pray that he will step up and bring a wrongful death suit, otherwise.. because she's going to be making money head over heals with interviews, books and maybe even a movie...
