I wish I did......although I can't imagine how clusters could be an influence on cancer of any type.......

Wouldn't it be cool if there was a silver lining to this hell we all live in?

The article just came out this month:

There is usually an abstract of the article that is free to read but this article doesn't have one. |

excercise and coffee are thought to reduce risk of cancer... i imagine IF CH sufferers who smoke dont get lung cancer as often as non CH sufferers who smoke it is because of something related to what we do in response to the CH. then again, smoking reduces your chances of getting alzheimer's... fewer smokers live that long...

My dad died of lung cancer and he was CHer for over 25 years. He stopped smoking about 7 years before he got his lung cancer.
I didn't get my first CH until 2 years after I stopped smoking. :-? |

It's different for everyone. I got my first CH when I was 16, the same year I started smoking. I've been quit for almost 8 years now, so who knows what will happen.

I quit smoking in 1980 at 34. 11 years on my CH went the way of the dodo. I was 45. I don't see a connection.
I still don't think CH and general health are related. I have no idea the effects of tobacco on other diseases, however. There would have to be one helluva benefit for me to stand outside in a blizzard "grabbing a smoke" at $9 a pack. Charlie |

You know this how? Doc Rosen is a well known CH specialist and researcher. I imagine his article contains numbers to back up his statement. Where are yours? |

Bob, if you read the sentence again, I believe sleepwalker means it wouldn't be wise to discount the research.
Is this right? |

The lack of punctuation allows one to interpret this several different ways. Perhaps you could explain a little more? |

Punctuation is your friend.
Let's eat Grandma. or Let's eat, Grandma. |

Or, "She has freckles on her but(t) she is pretty." Spelling is also helpful in this case. :D

Break it down! "I think"= he thinks "it would not"= it wouldn't "be wise to believe"= be smart to believe "that research its rubbish"= that research IS crap? or that research IT IS crap? or that research AND ITS crap? lol, :D |

Yeah, I see how you all read it now. BTW, wouldn't the OP's "belive" change the whole context of the sentence? ;D |
Title: Re: Smoking Post by Ricardo on Sep 18th, 2011 at 11:27am
This entire post is hilarious....I'll chime in my 2 cents of seriousness. My guess is that this study is pointing towards a genetic cause for clusters. Often times a genetic advantage also ends up having some sort of disadvantage...We get cancer prevention but we end up giving birth to a watermelon out our eye for it. Go figure.
