Title: Does the KNOT in the back of the NECK TRIGGER..
Post by Wendy1 on Jul 25th, 2011 at 8:00pm
I know about all the usual triggers, but wondered so many times (about an hr ago, matter of fact) if the 'ganglion' or 'knot' that is present during a cycle causes certain pressure on the blood vessel to trigger the headache (as when lying down)...  I fell asleep for an hr or so lying down and woke to a 8-9...  but it went away quicker than most... hmmm, just wondered your opinion...

I don't think every h/a is triggered by position, but I do feel some are... and wondering what others think.

It's been some time since we had a long thread on this subject. Several years ago it was a regular topic, for some reason.

Bu yes, a long tlme ago I could trigger an attack by sitting in a soft chair with pressure abou kidney level. Was interesting that if, at the first sign, I jumped up it would abort development. Sleeping on my ack evoked the same response.

My unscientific opinion.   I don't believe it is a trigger.   I am more apt to believe it is a symptom caused by the stress and anxiety these things bring on.  Furthermore, having the "knot"  very well may aggravate  the CH (not trigger).  Thus, a yucky cycle!   Have someone work on that knot.  Your head may get better.   Just my 2 cents.
