I'm just a little curious about what everyone's triggers are. :)

Alcohol and you are too young to drink ;)

Yep Alcohol. Even a taste. Also, Tobacco (reformed smoker), exposure to strong solvents (petrol, turpantine, Acetone) and dont know about anyone else, but, hot a bath.
So, if you are a car mechanic, smoke 30 a day, drink like a fish and are obsessed with hot tubs, your in trouble. :P |

Everyone is different. For me, alcohol isn't a trigger, but getting over tired, over hungry can be. Whilst being near others that smoke (I don't) isn't a trigger, the smell of nicotine replacement chewing gum is.

Triggers can trip off an attack only when we are in an active cycle of Cluster. That's why alcohol is O.K. when we are not in a cycle.
Much of the chatter in the past has been about foods, conditions, etc.--info imported from the migraine crowd. I think we are pretty well settled on alcohol, solvents as the big ones for Cluster. Individual exceptions rule. The only decent research I've seen was from Europe, some years ago: distilled spirits and red wine were triggers, white wine not. |

If you are not already keeping a headache journal, consider doing so Jordyn. Triggers can be real individual, tracking attacks is the best way to isolate yours.
Mine are alcohol, messing up my sleep cycles, extreme hunger and sustained stress. As Bob mentioned, off cycle, none of those bother me at all! I've never smoked so not sure if that would be an issue for me. ;) Keep firing those questions off Jordyn, you're on the right track with tackling your CH's!!! Joe |

I found a newly discovered one for me recently.
I was chronic for many years but things have been strangely going good and haven't been getting hit for some time. Working nights and getting home in the morning, it's not like you can order a pizza at 6am. So I shopped for some frozen pizzas for the freezer. Very consistently I felt a CH coming on some time after eating them. Looking on the box, they have a lot of salt in them. I tried a different frozen meal that also had a lot of salt, most frozen meals do, and again needed the oxygen. Just guessing, I never usually eat much salt, but it has the propensity to raise blood pressure. It seems this is able to start a normally dormant underlying CH with me because otherwise I've been ok, but I know now not out of the woods. |

Here's something to consider, might be worthless, but might be helpful about triggers...
RE: the D3 supplementation that is widely applauded on the "123 days.." thread ...just saw an advertisement on tv for a D3 product called "Schiff-Mega D3" sold at Walgreens, CVS, etc., etc. It was ironic timing to watch this on tv of the benefits of D3 etc considering I just started this regimen for preventing CH's. HOWEVER, this particular product called "Schiff-Mega D3" includes a RED WINE EXTRACT as an ingredient. Red Wine is noted by many of us to be a trigger, so thought it was worthwhile to post this as a possible caution to those who plan to purchase D3 that they may reconsider buying this particular brand of vitamins. Bottom line is look at the ingredients and best to stick to the brands that Batch and others are finding success with. |

Alcohol
Direct Sunlight Hairspray Perfume Inscense I'm a little strange, smoking cigerrettes didn't bother me as long as it wasn't inside a closed space like a crowded bar or restaurant full of smokers. Of course that's not a problem now since you cannot smoke indoors in Illinois. ;) |
