Wanted to share our good news with you. Our newest grandson arrived at 12:56 this morning, weighing in at 8 lbs. 3 oz. Looks just like his big brothers.

We know the one kidney is working okay as he proved that immediately ;) We don't have answers yet as to what will happen with the non-functioning kidney. He is to have an ultra sound next week and is on antibiotics for 6 to 8 weeks and will be monitored by the kidney specialists at Sick Kids Hospitals.

Some months ago I asked my friends here to offer up prayers for his safe delivery and once again, prayers from this spot do work.

Prayers answered. Sometimes God agrees with our opinions.

Just as an aside, I had a friend who found out after age 40 that he only had one kidney. It was discovered by a test that his urologist ordered after they couldn't find his second vas to sever during his vasectomy.

He never knew it. And it never affected him. Many people live normal, happy lives with just one kidney.

Congrats Carol -- Just saw his pic on FB and he looks like a keeper... He's just precious... And his big brothers are adorable (at least in the picture - got a little "mischief" look in their eyes.. LOL).. Looked like they were thinking , "Ok now we've got someone to BLAME it on!" :)
