Title: Now I understand
Post by Callico on Sep 3rd, 2011 at 6:24pm
The English language has a wonderful collective of Nouns for the various groups of animals.

We are all familiar with a Herd of cows, a Flock of chickens, a School of fish and a Gaggle of geese.

However, less widely known is a Pride of lions, a Murder of crows (as well as their cousins the rooks and ravens), an Exaltation of doves and, presumably because they look so wise, a Parliament of owls.

Now consider a group of Baboons. They are the loudest, most dangerous, most obnoxious, most viciously aggressive and least intelligent of all primates.

And what is the proper collective noun for a group of baboons?

Believe it or not ....... a Congress!

It is all becoming perfectly clear...........

America's most accident-prone cities

The most accident-prone city in America: Washington, D.C.
•Estimated population: 599,657.
•Average time between accidents: 4.8 years.
•Increased chance of an accident: 107.3%.
•Just 40 miles south of Baltimore is the undisputed champ of bad drivers: Washington, a city whose very existence is defined by the nightmarish highway surrounding it, the Beltway. The average D.C. resident pays $2,146 in insurance premiums a year, and given that they're more than twice as likely to get in an accident as the average driver, we'd say that's pretty justified.
