Sunday September 11, 2011
A somber Paul Simon performed an emotionally wrenching version of "The Sound of Silence" at Ground Zero
during Sunday's ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attack on the World Trade Center.

You're welcome Jerry.  :)
James Taylor was another artist that performed on Sunday.

*Edit: Paul Simon was originally scheduled to play Bridge Over Troubled Water.
Paul decided to play The Sound of Silence instead as indicated in the article & the video [below].

Musical Moment: Paul Simon Sings 'The Sound Of Silence'

Update at 11:55 a.m. ET: NPR's Margot Adler, who has been covering the New York ceremony, tells us that Simon (according to the official program) had been expected to perform "Bridge Over Troubled Water." The response to his choice to do "The Sound of Silence" instead, though, indicates it was a good decision.
