Title: Amusement Rides Post by CDog on Sep 13th, 2011 at 11:54am
Any one have any experience with rides triggering an attack? The wife wants to go to Disney World At Xmas and we would be flying to get there and back and then riding rides. Prior to having CHs I have never had any problems with rides.
Thanks! Chris |

I am a bit of a roller coaster enthusiast, and have never had them trigger an attack.
If you are willing to get on an airplane in order to be kept company by a six-foot f'ing rat, you deserve nothing but pain-free wishes, brother. I love roller coasters, but you wouldn't catch me DEAD within 50 miles of that place. |

I have been before and really enjoyed the experience. I really liked the Big Thunder Mtn rollercoaster and the Primeval Whirl (cross between a rollercoaster and a tilt-a-whirl).

Just got back from amusement parks while in the middle of a cycle actually. Definitely did not trigger cluster headaches for me. Drinking a glass of wine with dinner did though. And so did the plane ride.
But go nuts on the rides!! |

Give it a go and see what happens. The worst will be a few CHs, but you get them anyway, the best is that you might have a load of fun and dealing with CHs is about making the most of life between the hits.
Personally, I'd just enjoy flying there and back a few times as flying is the best preventive I know for CHs (67 flights this year so far with not a single CH or shadow whilst airborne). |

I get sick on merry go'rounds. But I love Splash Mountain. We had family year long passes when I lived in FL and we took great advantage of them. The only problem I had at Disney (any of the parks) was finding a place to be alone when I got hit. This was in the early days before O2 and Imitrex but privacy is not high on the priority list for Disney. I'd have some kind of plan just in case. Maybe when you get to the park, scope out where there seem to be fewer people hanging around. Blessings and have fun. lance

If rollercoasters have never been a problem before I can't imagine they would be now. I've always gotten terrible migraines from rollercoasters, but nothing like a CH. Good luck and enjoy your trip!
