Title: Sea level and Equator
Post by buhrly1 on Sep 13th, 2011 at 9:04pm
I wanted to open a discussion on people observations of their CH at sea level and the equator.

Here is what i have noticed so far. I live in the high desert(3500) and usually start cycle in Aug-Sept. It gets up over 100 is smoking and dry with cool 50 degree temps at night.

Last years cycle was completely skipped and the only change was spending Aug in Hawaii. Sea level, moist and equator. I did get some heavy shadowing one day after a trip up the mountain to 7000 ft. There was one day of light shadowing after a day spent on the dry side of the island.

I usually have light shadowing all year round. This spring was spent on a sailboat on the Oregon coast. No shadows! Wet and sea level with cool temps.

Went on a trip to help a church and school in Dominica. Very close to the equator, crazy hot, humid, and lots of working in the sun. Usually that kind of work in the sun i would be done. No problems very very light shadowing experienced in the heat.

Last week end a quick trip over to the boat fully in cycle. Get there and sleep like a baby both nights. 3500 foot elevation change. Make the trip back and spend the night up battling.

I know when you read on CH they say there is less people effected with it at sea level and close to the equator per population.

So i know that this can be different for each of us but would like to hear some thoughts and experiences with this.

I am considering some more experimentation with it  :)

I started with CHs while living in FL. Continued with CHs the entire time I lived in FL. Moved to NE and went chronic. I've spent quite a bit of time in Germany and last visit got hit every day, twice a day, for 18 days. Used to be seasonal but now is constant. I personally have found no correlation but that's just me. blessings. lance

No personal experience, other than times spent at the shore in Maine, New Jersey, Florida and Maryland for short stays. I saw no corelation at those times.

I have spoken with Neurologists and it appears CH sufferers come from all areas of the world and would indicate no correlation.

One could easily believe due to the circadian rhythm of our malady that it COULD be related, I however, have not heard, experienced or read of any.

All the best,
Baer

My first attack came on an airplane, onto the way to Ft Lauderdale Fla. In November of 2000. It was barely k1. While in Florida for the week, I kept waking up from noon maps with small headaches, and felt like my neck was cold. Incidentally, its why I take hot showers when I get attacks. Then I got home to CT. They got worse, hitting 9-10 regularly. I don't know if that helps, as I've not been in cycle in Florida since then.
