Anyone have any experience with too many pills at once causing attacks?  Since I am lazy and forgetful I have been taking 3 pills at once along with some supplements before heading off to bed.  Though far from the nasty episodes I would get before taking the drug I was still awake and pacing for a couple hours after I had wanted to go to bed.  I started switching it up to mornings since I never get an attack after 7AM since I started taking this drug in July.  This past week since starting my new routine I at least get shadows and generally feel like shit every day till well after I get home from work.  A couple days I have even wanted to go home it has been so bad but since my line of work does not give me that option often I have had to stick it out (with all the fail and fuck ups that come from an attack at work).  So is this just in my head?  I am going to start trying to space these 3 pills out over the course of the day.  That and when these supplements run out in the next week or two I am going to give it a go without them.

Jeremiah, there are so very many things in your first post that I am only answer one of them and others...if they have a mind to can chime in.

Can't you just look at the bottle and read exactly what directions your Doctor has ordered? 

You also might want to ask him/her if he thinks you should increase your dosage.  What you're taking is low.  Most here take considersably higher doses per day than 360.

My comments are only to mention possibilities, and correspond in a way to what Linda has said.

The 360mg all at once may be much in one respect, causing perhaps a lethargic feeling.  On the other hand, since you are getting shadows, 360mg a day may not be enough at this time.

What I've done in these instances is see my doctor and ask if I can take 240mg twice a day, 12 hours apart.  In this way, you are not taking so much all at once and also getting better preventive coverage for more than 24 hours.

This may curtail the crappy feeling and shadows since you are not taking so much all at once and also help not get mild hits after the 24 hours since your last 360mg, which may not last that long.

Check with your doc.

People react differently to medications. In my experience, what I do with Verapamil today impacts tomorrow's CH's - there is always at least a day or more delay. I can skip doses today won't get hit tonight, but I most certainly will tomorrow night or the next.

This is true for me when I lower my dose, or raise it up again - always a delay to see the difference.

Talk to your Doctor

I'm going to echo what Marc said...there does seem to me to be a correlation between what sort of verapamil I am taking (ER or quick acting) and in what doses (I take 240mg/night quick release and 400mg/morning ER and QR) and whether or not I will get shadows. When I change this mix, I get more shadows and a few hits. When I stick to this, I do better. Can't explain it, but I note it, and try to stay within what works. It's still trial and error but keep at it, you'll hit your stride. Blessings. lance

Thanks for the reply's.  I really do think 360 is my magic number.  I just need to to nail down the best times to take them.  I can really relate to what you are saying about the day or so delay in attacks Marc.  About anytime I have messed up and forgot to take my 3 pills I have always paid for it within a day or two.  It is now 6AM and I am just about ready to grab an hours sleep after paying for Tuesdays/tonights "oops".   :-[
