Time will tell, I guess.

Are you at peace? Or armed, at the very least?

Communications down for 3 minutes

The site says 30 seconds, and there is all kinds of info there so that an H. G. Wells-like final doomsday blog or a George Orwell imagination, such as:

Quote:
Yes, eventually alternative means of communicating will be set up but until then we will all be in the dark and that's how they want it.

The question is why? My guess is that they see the "Occupy" protests now turning violent and they are getting ready for an economic crash and civil war.

Nothing else really makes sense other than war, plague or an Earth Impact. There's really very little else that could effect us on a national scale. It's all about control.

won't be necessary.

Info such as:

Quote:
The purpose of the test is to assess the reliability and effectiveness of the EAS as a public alert mechanism. EAS Participants currently participate in state-level monthly tests and local-level weekly tests, but no top-down review of the entire system has ever been undertaken. The Commission, along with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, will use the results of this nationwide test to assess the reliability and effectiveness of the EAS as a public alert mechanism, and will work together with EAS stakeholders to make improvements to the system as appropriate.

When is the EAS used? When would a national EAS alert be sent?

the national EAS test will test the underlying architecture that also supports state and local alerting. Ensuring that the EAS architecture functions properly will benefit emergency alerting at all levels of government.

Why do we need a nationwide test of the EAS?

a major disaster like an earthquake or tsunami could necessitate the use of the EAS on a regional or national basis to send life-saving information to the public. We cannot anticipate which communications infrastructure will withstand a particular disaster, but the EAS is one of the tools we have to send alerts, warnings, and information to the American people. The national EAS test will help us improve its capabilities should it ever be needed at the regional or national level in an actual emergency.

How will the nationwide EAS test be conducted?

The nationwide EAS test will be conducted jointly by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) through its Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS), the three federal agencies that have EAS management responsibilities

How long will the test last?

We anticipate that the test will last approximately 30 seconds.

If you'd like, there was a fantastic thread on this site about making the perfect tin foil hat that can be searched.

For what's worth.......

We are talking about a live "feed' from the feds. They aren't taking down communication, they are piping info to the broadcasters to rebroadcast in their service area. The broadcasters are obliged to do so as a part of their FCC licensing, as a public service.

If none of the broadcasters followed the rules, the emergency messages wouldn't go out. The Government does not have direct control of the transmitters.

One should always trust a corrupt government, let's all just do what we're told, look the other way and pretend "it can't happen here".

I don't think anybody here advocates trusting a corrupt government.

BTW, in case you don't know, the government already has the capability of shutting down all broadcasts of any kind.

This thread makes no sense since Gregg deleted his original thread,  as well as a few other posts of his.  Just in case someone new happened upon this thread and didn't know what was going on.

Moving along now.... ;)

I have no idea what ANY of this means...and I don't care....

What I do believe is that: up and in...and low and away...will get you there. I couldn't touch up and in...low and away...occasionally.

Best,

Jon

You're only assuming Gregg did it, Linda. I contacted the CIA and they denied it.

Heard that a number of cable companies hit the switch for the emergency alert system and ended up feeding QVC. No lie.

C'mon people!

Everybody knows by now that the so called "asteroid" that supposedly just missed the earth and the EAS "test," are simply part of Obama's failed secret plan to black out FOX News?
