Exchanged a 200 ft welders tank yesterday, going through them in 96 hours still TORTURED by the DRAGON 8x/day, and my throat is getting sore from the dryness of the o2.

The sore throat is only when on o2, otherwise I am fine so i'ts not that i'm sick.

The fill date was 11/10th and I picked it up yesterday, 11/11th, not that o2 would expire, right?

The cylinders are stored outside at the welders supply house and temps here in LasVegas have been 40 F to 60 F.

Drinking more than 2 gallons of h2o daily as I sometimes get relief from water therapy, so i'm plenty hydrated, not sure what the deal is.

Read about a bubbler contraption, but before I go that route...curious if there are any suggestions to help avoid the dryness?   :-/

The dryness is a "good" sign. You get the same effect when you go scuba diving. There is absolutely no moisture in the air you breathe out of the compressed tanks. Absolute zero humidity.

A "bubbler" set up is your best option to avoid the drying out effect. Especially since you're going through the volume of 02 you are. Glad it's slaying the beast for you still, you've been in a crappy cycle for a while now. :'(

Like you mentioned the volume of o2 I go through is most likely the issue. 

Just never noticed the dryness in the past until this tank I picked up yesterday.  But what you wrote does makes sense.

Pausing with the O2 inhalation to drink some water every now and then seems to work better for me than the bubbler.

 

"Cluster" is right - stop for a drink between breaths. At the flow rates we use, conventional bubblers can't work.

I did set up a high flow bubbler rig for a guy who choked on the dry air every time. It was simply 4 standard bubblers in parallel using T's in the tubing.

sipped water every minute or so and it helped both times this evening, thanks guys
