Title: Next week
Post by sandie99 on Nov 20th, 2011 at 3:23pm
Next week will be one busy week for us. I hope that shadows will stay away...

Tomorrow I'll be spending the day from 8.30am to 3pm at entrance examination, which may lead to a change of career for me. This is second one for me this fall, the first one, for another school, lead to shadows the day before and shadows during one of the tests. Keep your thumbs up that tomorrow will be a PF one!

Friday will be a big day for my dear husband. His work for the past 5 years has reached its end: his doctoral dissertation. He will be Doctor of Science in Technology. :) From noon to the late evening, I'll be there for him. First at the thesis defense and later on at the party.

Saturday is my husband's office's Christmas party. And this year, we're the hosting couple. So from noon to late at night, we'll be in charge to entertain my husband's two bosses, the staff and their wives. Luckily for us, it's a small company, so there will be 20 of us. It's a bit scary, because last year's party was incredible and hosted by one of the bosses, the vice president and his wife. Let's hope that our party will be a good one, too.

I do hope the everything will go well. I know that ch can appear any day; stress is a factor for me and so are the colder days. Wish me luck next week, I will need it!

PF wishes to us all,
Sanna

Different from journalism?   Any clues for us?   :)

Big congrats to dear husband!

The thesis I've been working on the last four years is that I wouldn't still be working where I am.  It's not concluded yet, needs more work.    ;)

Have a good party.  You and your mom baked some nice pastries once for the holidays, a yummy temptation.   :)

One Christmas, Svenn showed us some Nordic sheep's head on a plate.  Be cautious with that idea, it's not eye-candy.   ;)

Entrance exam is done and in the mid of the first part of the day shadows appeared. I still feel that I did fine, and the both interviews which followed went nicely. If I'm accepted, the letter about it will arrive next week.

The entrance exam I took earlier this month was a successful one, I got in to that school, so I know for sure that I'll go back to school come January.

Kevin,
that is correct, I'm leaving journalism behind me for a little while now. The media field has been hit hard and many of my friends are now looking for jobs and wondering about the future. So I decided that it's time to do something I've been thinking about for years now. That is why I applied to two schools to study for the very same thing.

So after two years of studying I will have my second profession and this time I don't have to worry, there will be a lot of jobs available and many of them are full-time ones.

The second career of my choice? I'll be practical nurse. :)

I'll be baking a lot for this Christmas, too, but I won't be baking for the party (but I plan to bake 2 cakes for my husband's colleagues before Christmas holidays begin). But there will be a lot of other nice things to eat. :) There will not be sheep's heads anywhere, but I am going to get small presents for everyone, maybe candy canes and we will drink traditional non-alcoholic Christmas time drink, mulled wine. :)

PF days to us all,
Sanna

Thank you, Charlie. :)

We just got back home from the thesis defense. It went nicely. The opponent was from Russia and her accent was a bit hard to understand at times, but otherwise everything went well. Afterwards everybody got coffee, tea and strawberry cake.

Soon we'll leave for the party. It's great to be able to dress up, that doesn't happen that often. It's fun to see my husband in tailcoat for change. ;)

So far ch has stayed away, hopefully it stays away at the party as well.

Enjoy Black Friday! :)

PF wishes,
Sanna

Great to hear that everything went well at the defence.

Now enjoy the party which is a great way to unwind after the stress of it all.

Your first married holiday season brings you into new, more involving changes.  Sitting with a dissertation, hosting a party for bosses, mingling with his working atmosphere, holiday with new relatives, and changing careers.   Wow!

Brave callings.       CH be still.

Big hugs, Sanna.        :)
