Title: Hypothyroidism and CH
Post by MattyAA on Nov 22nd, 2011 at 3:50pm
Like in topic, does it affect any meds etc with CH, can meds for Hypothyroidis trigger CH in me?

and most important does anyone on board have both CH and Hypothyroidism?

I ask because apparently Hypothalamus regulates Thyroid in some way.

Thank you in advance! <3

I consider myself to likely be hypothyroid (I don't think I'm  a super hypochondriac  though - I don't imagine I have alll sorts of other ailments).

After noticing I had many hypothyroid symptoms such as fatigue, cold intolerance and muscle cramps, and possessing a well earned deep distrust and lack of respect for medical doctors, I read a book by a doctor/researcher on the subject (hey I figure reading a book by a doc isn't as bad as going to one's office  :D).

The book was called "The Hidden Illness" or something and this guy was a Navy doctor, which meant he had huge numbers of servicemen to experiment on.  :D He rejected the T3 - T4 hypothyroid test as flawed BS, as do I, and found that taking your temperature upon waking by sticking a thermometer in your.....underarm (phew!) over the course of several days was a much better way to diagnose hypothyroidism. If your temperature is consistently in a low range, yer probably a hypoT. Mine was consistently down in the 97.x territory, making me a regular hypoT feller in his book.

I haven't found a good remedy. Once I was starting to go on the armor something or other pills, but started a CH cycle right then, so I stopped, then shunned it just in case it was a trigger.

Hmmmm.....yeah body temperature is regulated by the 'ol hypothalamus, isn't it?...

Hey Bejeeber,

Thank you so much for an answer, well I got some symptoms too, I find it hard to lately lose weight, as I weight 10-20 kilograms more than what I used to, not sure how many pounds that is.

About tempreture also sorry I am bad at USA scale and measurement as I come from Poland But yeah in general I know what you mean, if my body tempreture is lower than the usual mammal temp over course of few days/weeks? It is a sign right?

I also have cold intolerance as in, I often feel cold when others don't.

My TSH level is 5.88uml well max range on blood work paper states to be 4.20uml

I wonder, do I really need to take these thyroid meds? I wont die from that? It could get worse tho?

And yes I read hypothalamus is connected with Thyroid secretion, and yes Hypothalamus regulates body temp.

Kind of weird hmm and yet interesting, though I am a buster + O2 user with Batch's arterial PH regimen. So far so good.

But yeah I do worry it might feck me up when I start meds on Thyroid.

My usual Episodic CH is every 2 years(Unless I trigger with ale) during spring (though there were exceptions every 1 year or autumn instead or summer)

Thanks in advance again for any answers!

-Matty

The landmark library for medical literature in the U.S. has only 5 citations on the question between 1975 and 1987.

I.E., not an idea which apppears to be getting anyone's atention.

In any case, mucking around with the thyroid is one of the least wise ideas to consider.
