Title: I am thankful for: Post by Linda_Howell on Nov 22nd, 2011 at 10:18pm The last (almost a year) of being PF after 24 yrs. of being chronic. For Sooooo many friends here and in my other life who have always been on my side & stuck by me and loved me for who I am. For allowing me to continue serving as Family Services Chairperson... as I have always GOT more than I GIVE. For my children who are healthy, and to God for blessing me with yet another day. For DJ who started this 12 yrs. ago and touched my life as well as SO many others. For all the friends I've made that will be life-long. O.k. you guys....what are you REALLY thankful for? |

Oh my...where....do...I....start....
The last (almost a year) of being PF after 24 yrs. of being chronic. Happy dance...happy dance...happy dance...it gives ME hope as an episodic to chronic. When one of MINE makes the transition to PF...all else fails to mean anything...that's enough for me...... For Sooooo many friends here and in my other life who have always been on my side & stuck by me and loved me for who I am. MY back is so covered by Linder, and you all, that I laugh at loofas...you got mine...I got yours.... For allowing me to continue serving as Family Services Chairperson... as I have always GOT more than I GIVE. Ya always get more than ya give....some folks never get that...Linder does! For my children who are healthy, and to God for blessing me with yet another day. It used to be that every day...I got up and dreaded the next 16 hrs...not no more...not with this family to rely on... For DJ who started this 12 yrs. ago and touched my life as well as SO many others. "Never in the course of human events has so much been owed by so many to so few...even ONE" There are people alive today...struggling, fighting, persevering....who might not be..... without DJ and the folks like Linda For all the friends I've made that will be life-long. There's a wise man, who says: "adversity does not build character...it reveals it". I see that every day...from people I've never met...and couldn't love more. O.k. you guys....what are you REALLY thankful for? I'm here...you're there...life goes on...we do it together. Can't get better than that. Best, Jon |

I am thankful to God for letting me live another day, for not waking in pain last night, for my husband and our 3 children, for my Grandma, for our friends and family who love and care for us and for guidance in my everyday life. :)

Linda I loved your post, and Jon, you added to it immeasurably.
I too am so very thankful for DJ and CH.com. I honestly don't know where I would be had I not found it and then was able to finally sign on in March of 2003. (It's hard to believe it's been that long). Because of DJ I've gotten a handle on dealing with this beast, met some wonderful people who have made a great impact on my life, lost a couple of friends who couldn't take it any more, but have kept many others who were able to find help and support here. I'm so grateful also for the wonderful family I've been blessed with, with a wife who has stood by me for almost 40 years, who has not complained when we have not been able to achieve what others have financially, but has made do and has enriched my life. For my kids, of whom I'm inordinately proud, although they deserve it! For the freedom and opportunity provided me in the USA. For a great church that supports and cares for me, and finally, but by far not least, for the love of God that has forgiven my past, provides for my present, and has secured my future. I am indeed blessed far beyond what I deserve! To each of you I wish a PF and happy Thanksgiving! To my Canadian friends I know yours has been already celebrated, but I wish the blessings of our Thanksgiving to flow across the border and bless you as well. Jerry |

One of the things Montanans will be thankful for this Thanksgiving is good travel conditions.
As of Wednesday, most roads were clear and any new snow is expected to hold off at least until Friday. Billings should see a high of 54 degrees on Wednesday; the normal is 41. Miles City is forecast to hit 52 degrees. Normal there is 38. Red Lodge could see 47 degrees. The weather will beat the heck out of last year at this time. On Nov. 24, 2010, the high in Billings was 11 degrees, the low was 14 below zero and there was 11 inches of snow on the ground. The minus-14 was a record low for the day. Travel was marginal, especially in the battered northeast part of the state. By this time last year, 23.3 inches of snow had fallen for the month in Billings -- 10.3 inches more than normal. Much of it stayed on the ground because temperatures were so cold. The mean temperature was 30.3 degrees, or 3.8 degrees colder than normal. I was on the road between Livingston Mt. and Billings Mt and it was terrifying. Way below zero, in a blizzard with 50mph winds, on ice, with a foot of new snow. Then I had to drive back to Billings in the same conditions in the DARK. Right now it's 61° F Potter |
