Title: Life after the initial stages
Post by Sprog on Dec 15th, 2011 at 7:01am
Hello all,

This site probably saved my sanity. I was a lean, mean Production Management machine... and then I got hit with Cluster Headaches. All the crap about team focus preached by modern management flew out the window and left me friendless when the beast struck. However, one employment tribunal settlement and a new job later, I'm back on my feet.

How many others were attacked and left for dead while they were fighting for their health and sanity in the workplace?

I found my skills were in demand despite my illness and found a new job. If anyone is going through the same thing I hope my experiences and the experiences of others can help. Ask and I can offer my own first hand knowledge. Maybe others can chime in.

Sometimes one door hits you in the arse and propels you through another.

Best regards
Stephen

I am sure that this place has saved a lot more than just people's sanity. It's given people the chance to turn their life around.

Going through an employment tribunal will have been painful, so being able to handle that, with CHs and to get a good outcome is great, plus then finding a new job where you're valued is even better.

Keep improving!

I was fortunate enough to have understanding supervisors who'd transfer me off the streets during a killer cycle. Sadly I realize I'm in a minority. Glad you didn't end up on the streets, a fate which has hit many on these boards. Keep that attitude, it's everything! ;)

I have a business with 8 staff, they are like family. If I get a hit at work I can go find somewhere out back to be on my own and no-one bothers me. We never talk about it afterwards but there is always a strong coffee waiting for me. I feel very lucky indeed.  ::)
