Title: O2 Regulator Mismatch - Help!
Post by jfalek on Dec 28th, 2011 at 10:54am
Hi,

I am new and a bit confused.  I rented an m-tank and went on ebay and bought a regulator.  However, I don't see how to connect them.  After reading through lots of the Oxygen posts and I think that the tank has a "Spigot Valve CGA-540" while the regulator has a CGA-870 (see below).  Is this correct?  If so,
  • is it worthwhile doing a conversion?
  • returning one and if so which one

Can anyone give me some recommendations, please?
Thank you,
  James

When I look at the recommendation from Racer1_NC, I see 2 gauges, both measured in PSI.  However, I thought that it was recommended to get a regulator with 25 LPM.

Is it possible to convert from PSI to LPM?  If so, then what value should I be looking to get and on which gauge (left?)

The regulator I posted will provide much more than 25 lpm. Just adjust the flow so the bag on your mask never completely flattens.......will work just fine.

It's handy to have a regulator for both M and E tanks.  I keep my M at home and the E's in my car and at work.

First of all, thank you!  I just put in my order for the welding regulator and have ordered the o2ptimask.

I've read through most of the site but I am still confused about how to let the bag fill up and hyperventilate.  Maybe I'll understand better when the welding regulator arrives and I "try it out".

Again, thank you, thank you, thank you.
