Okay, like most of us, when I’m going through a spell after 18 months, 2 days and 13 hours of remission (hey, who’s counting) the first thing I do is run to the internet to see if there are some new treatments, cures, research.  I am happy to report that the latest findings show that we tend to have blue or brown eyes.  This is startling and revelatory because previously it was thought that the majority of us had hazel eyes.  Correct me if I’m wrong, but they’ve now covered all but green eyes (which usually fall under hazel anyway).  So, here’s my note to the medical research community out there (if they’re listening).  NOBODY GIVES A RAT’S A*&^ WHAT COLOR EYES WE HAVE!!!!  No frigging wonder we don’t have a cure for this yet – YOU’RE SPENDING TIME RESEARCHING OUR EYE COLOR.  Just out of curiosity HOW DO YOU EVEN KNOW what my eye color is given that one of my eyes is practically sealed shut from Horner’s Syndrome. But I’m going to help you guys out here and not even charge a research assistant fee.  WE WERE ALL WERE BORN WITH BLACK, BROWN, BLONDE OR RED HAIR.  Now could you jokers please get back to the serious research because we’re all sucking back D3, zinc and magnesium and doing our best imitations of Dennis Hopper in “Blue Velvet” waiting on you jokers. 

There's been studies on just about everything under the sun. Including being under the sun. Right or left handed. Tall, short. Fat, skinney. Skin color, lack of skin color. Drunk, sober. North or south latitude. Smoker, nonsmoker. Speaking of hair color..... clusters cause a change in hair color. I used to have light brown hair. Then I started clustering and now my hair is gray.
I'm sure someone will be along shortly to say you don't have cluster headaches. 'Cause you're a women. Women don't get clusters. Women aren't strong enough to stand the pain. Therefore, you can only get migraines.  ::)

LOL!  Yes, I think that's why I was misdiagnosed for years -- back in the day they definitely didn't think women got clusters (hormonal headaches and migraines is what I heard).  I didn't mean to pooh-pooh any research but for some reason last night when I was up at 1:30 avoiding going to sleep, that one just struck me as hysterical.

The chief scientist expresses to his fellow eminent friends that this material must be produced so cheaply that even the poorest of the poor will be able to afford it.

I've noticed there seems to be a lot of treatments for symptoms, but not many cures.

Barry, I think you're definitely on to something there!  I think it is a safe bet to assume that there will be no Nobel Prize given out for medical research for a breakthrough in Cluster Headaches in our lifetime.  Until then, we'll have to rely on one another for tips on surviving the night.
