Title: Quick question about pain
Post by Mike Bernardo on Mar 5th, 2012 at 11:28am
I get pain when I sleep on my right side (I have right side pain in my head). I am on day 96 of my cycle. I also now get pain when I bend over, or "bear down" as I suppose it's called, which is basically if I were to hold my breath and push, such as if I was lifting a heavy weight. My BP is good (110/65), mostly because I run a lot. I'm going off the topamax, as even up to 400 mg, I the pain stayed (it went away for 3 whole days, then kicked up again), the verapamil did nothing for me, and the dopier I got on both meds, the more the pain affected me, as I couldn't handle the pain through the grogginess. Anyway, the other pains I've had, but the sensitivity to touch, the pressure on the side/top of the head, and bearing down pressure, especially when bending over is new. Anyone else have this?

Several years ago we had a series of threads about how various postures triggered an attack. There didn't seem to be any very common pattern, as best I can recall, just one of those highly individual experiences whigh go with the territory.

Examples: sleeping on you back; sitting on a chair put pressure on the kidneys, and so on.

When in cycle, I cannot bend down, actually yes I can, but rising up straight again is very painful every time. It took me years to realize that, when in cycle, I not only cannot sleep (without getting hits), I cannot even lie down. The transition from up to lying down almost inevitably triggers a hit, or vice versa. I (try to) sleep sitting up, the best is in a lazy-boy. May I mention to you that since I joined Clusterbusters, I see life with yet another perspective 8-).
