Back in Feb., there was a discussion about a recent study on episodic CHs. Coach..bob wondered about older people coming down with Clusters. I'm one of those people. I first got Clusters in 1985 at at age 55. I think they were brought about thru stress (though I've had lots of medical theories in the last 27 years ????????????

I'm retired from the military so it's fair to say that I've had as much stress as the next guy. This was a civilian job managing a branch of an Allied Van Lines company in NH. I started 1 Feb. I loved the job but the stress was incredible !!!!!!! I also drank a ton of strong coffee. I started the HAs in late March. Thru the years I've gone pillar to post with these things. Mostly spring and fall for 10 years then once a year. For various reasons, I never had prescription meds until last year.

Now I'm in cycle since late Feb. and started Topamax (generic version) last night. I am waiting for the Neuro to get me Oxy but it's like pulling teeth.

Have you guys ever had a discussion about what may have caused yours to start ?????????

Am I full of B..... about my theory as to how mine started ??????????

Don't bother with the oxy.

100 different people, 100 different theories. I have compared notes with many people but all had different stories.

By Oxy, do you mean Oxygen or Oxycotin?

Yeah, oops. My mind immediately went to "oxycontin" or "oxycodone."

If you mean "oxygen," well, then nevermind. Go for it with all you have.

About how it all started, don't waste your brain power on that, who the heck knows?!!!  It's an extra stressor trying to figure out!  Also I'm from NH, lakes region myself.  If ur still up there try the Dartmouth Docs. U'll be a guinea pig, BUT they are cutting edge.  ....

I used to think opposite of the mainstream here, if narcs help whatever, I would think just do it ... but not so much anymore..  all they do is make you care a little less .. but really not even that!  Just forget about that IMHO just not a good road to go down! 

My age is really showing. I meant OXYGEN. The other 2 drugs aren't even part of we oldster's dictionary ??????????????????

I've been with this Neuro for 3 years and he started me on Topomax but seems to be putting me off of the 02 'till we meet on May 3. By then I hope to be off cycle. ...................Sure....................??????????????????

I hope 2 things.....

1. I hope that you are indeed out of cycle.
2. If not, I hope you will insist on the 02.

It was a godsend to me and many others on here.

Keep searching for that cause, Oldred. It'll hurt nobody and if you find it, well, you'll be a hero to us all.
