Title: My heart is breaking Post by Sandy_C on Apr 14th, 2012 at 7:01pm
I don't know how many of you are old enough to have been young when the Bee Gee's hit the charts. I do. I remember almost every word of every song the Bee Gee's sang. I danced to them, sang along with them and adored them.
Robin Gibb, one of the Bee Gee's, and possibly the the "voice" in the group that you remember the most, is seriously ill and in a coma right now. I pray that if he has to leave us that he will go quietly, comfortably and without pain, but knowing that there are so many of us who loved him and will miss him and his talent. Sandy |

I hadn't heard that. I was a class of 78 graduate and The Bothers Gibb defined a lot of us back then. Sad. :(

Simon and Garfunkel were doing nice music in the 60's, but I heard some new Beegees sing "Words" in 1968 and bought the 45. It seemed beautiful back then, I listened to it a while. That would be his distinctive voice on that one I think. He could almost stop a song with feeling. "...It's on-ly words, but words are all I have, to take your heart away." |
