Title: No rest for the wicked... Post by BarbaraD on Jul 17th, 2012 at 9:54am
Boy this summer has gone by really fast...
My 50th reunion is almost here (Sept) and things are moving "fast" right now.. I think we're just having meetings regularly to have "mini" conventions waiting for the "big event".. but we're having fun... I'm doing a "Memory Book" (about like a high school annual) and you wouldn't believe the stuff people have kept for the past 7 decades.. Everything from birth on.. Group pictures from kindergarten on... slumber parties.. First dance.. gosh they've brought back memories.. so far I've got about 150 pages and still working on it.. And none of my "exercises" paid off so I'm having to go with "flesh colored" balloons for Dolly ... oh well, some got it and some of us don't.. But I'll see if "blondes" really do have more fun.. always wondered.. But our really "big" thing in our stage show is Lee Greenwood and "God Bless the USA" ... we've got about 1000 balloons that are going to drop from the ceiling at the end of that.. Now how special is that.. All we've got to do is blow up 1000 balloons (no cracks about me having enough hot air to do the job singlehanded.. it's already been said..).. Anyhow.. right now I'm having a great time and my head is staying fairly good.. I just told Mr. D that I don't have time to screw with him right now.. so there! Hope everyone is having a good summer.. but next month it's back to school and then fall again... time sure flies when you're having fun... :-* |

Really fantastic, Barb. Sounds like an amazing social gathering of good memories. :)
The only thing left to do before the big event is take a few of your "buddies" on an outing. Oh, like one of your road trips to Dollywood, with Caleb. Bring your costume. ;) Lee Greenwood in the back seat can sing his "Somebody's Leaving", "Dixie Road" and "I Never Thought Your Memory Would Ever Go This Far" I don't think he'll get his guitar smashed like Elvin Bishop in "Animal House" |
