Less than two weeks to go and it's HERE! We're tying up last minute details now.. Seems like we've been working on this for years and it's finally here!!  :D :D :D

A lot of us had some concerns about Kenny Rogers, (he's an architect and pretty "reserved") but the guy showed up for rehersal dressed to the hilt as THE GAMBLER and had some moves we never knew about. He was hillarious. Our act just fell in place and everyone was amazed that we hadn't even practiced together before.

We've had some bad stuff .. One guy got run over by a hay baler (he's the yellow polka dot bikin) but he was at rehersal and did fine (his physical therapy is working good). Another had her gall bladder out.. we told her to take some extra vicodin and get her rear to rehersal - she did (moving slowly, but she was there). Then we had one die (sad time) and had to replace him (he was Elvis).. then after rehersal Monday night another one had to go to the hospital because of bleeding.. My son said we'd best get this thing over with before we all fall apart (his eye will be better by next week!)

And then our Elvis replacement turns out to be an old running mate whom I "owe" some paybacks..  ;) sooooo... I've put up some "kids" in the class behind us to be screaming teeny boppers and throw panties on the stage while he's doing his "thing" AND then I remembered that back in the 50s Elvis was actually in Gladewater and while he was singing, a "little" kid got out in the isle and started imitating him.. ummmmm.... sounded like a good idea.. think that should do it...  :) :) Of course I'll be looking behind me for the NEXT 50 years.. He's not one to take things without reciprocating..

Ya'll can tell I'm excited.. Well, we only do this every 50 years so...

The next two weeks are going to be really busy. I'm going to G'water next Wednesday for the very last minute things and will be there (am staying with a classmate) till it's over. So this should be a "fun" week for me.. Just wish me PF days.. I don't know when I've been this "animated" in years..  :-*

I seem to remember a solemn promise of pictures and videos, and something to do with Dolly Parton.

Well, this is the WEEK... I'm so excited as are most of my classmates. Our phone lines are buzzing.. We're all ready for Friday night and our big "show"..

Yesterday, I spent half the day doing Dolly's makeup and taking it off (for timing) since I'm in 2 other "production numbers" after Dolly and Kenny.

My bags are packed (I'm going to Gladewater Wed and staying till Sunday).. We got the building decorated Saturday and it looks terrific.

Today I'm printing more programs (we're having a RECORD turn out for the thing - didn't expect that and we're also having to "borrow" more tables and chairs).

But we're all having "fun" doinig this.. Sat when we were decorating.. we had a blast.. One guy had ordered a "bunch" of stuff (a couple of years ago) and "some assembly was required). No one in our class EVER learned to read directions so that was totally funny trying to assemble juke boxes, cars, and we got the stuff in the boxes mixed up but it all came out real well (even mixed up).

Don't know what we're gonna do for an encore when this is over - seems like we've been working forever to put it together and NOW it's here...

And YES, there will a video of it.. Goof ups and all... LOL! Just hope I don't fall off the stage or something else as stupid.. (welllll.... ) :)  Ok, I'm a "little" nervous now that's it's here.. Stage fright and all that.. But ... and don't tell me to break a leg... I'd probably do it..  :D 

You can tell, I'm excited.. This only happens every 50 years..  :-*

Hey Babs, one of the moderators has asked me to ask you if you're selling tickets to the ladies' dressing room.

Funny you should bring up the dressing room.. We had a "dress" rehersal Monday night and I guess no one ever learned to "CLOSE" a door.. I had to change my pants a couple of times and I'm standing there in my underware and the door opens and everyone is just wandering around..

But having raised a son (and a few ofhis friends) and two grandsons.. I think I lost all modesty years ago, so I just kept on doing my thing.. BUT not only are Dolly's boobies out in the open now (have to get a blow job to inflate them) now her underware is being discussed also..  :)

Guess that's just the theater for ya..  ::)

Linda, my son should have his camera so maybe he can upload some pics.. I think he knows how to do that stuff. I'm gonna learn some day.. Have a guy who swore he'd teach me.. He speaks "third grade"..  :-*
