Thanks to the webmasters and hosts.  I am new to the board and I look forward to searching the many posts. So……. I am not sure if my post will be a repeat.

Stats:
40 something.
20 plus years of clusters- only at night

6 years,  episodes were 6 months apart, about 50 almost sleepless nights each episode
8 years,  episodes were 1 year apart, about 50 almost sleepless nights each episode
6 years, episodes ARE 18 months apart, about 50 almost sleepless nights each episode

I read that after 24 months and/or age 50 ish they go away.  Has anyone had this experience or a similar progression?  Thanks

From the age of 20 until 40 my episodes came every 8-9 months and lasted 4 to 6 weeks.  At age 40 the remission jumped to 2 years but the length of the episode increased to a couple of months.  Each subsequent remission got a few months longer.  At age 55 they stopped.  Now almost 8 years without a cycle.

Nothing's for sure with CHs. After age 50 I went chronic. Oh well. I still have hopes for over age 60 they'll disappear! blessings. lance

Many people do stop in their 50's and 60's, that being said we have board members in their 70's still getting hit. I'm 52, PF for 2.5 years, my longest remission ever. I've decided I'm cured! ;)   (shhhhh...don't tell beasty I said that it pisses him off!)

I'm another clockwork episodic.  For 20 years, I cycled twice annually, spring and fall.  For another 10 years, cycles were once annually, in the spring.  At about age 45, they switched up again--and I began cycling every 3 years, again in the spring. 

In 2006, things began changing again.  I went 3 years, 4 months until the cycle began in 2009.  As of now, I've gone better than 3 years without a cycle. 

Guess we'll see what happens.  But the overall pattern is of increasing time between cycles.  Will that continue?  Don't know. 

With luck, the thing has a lifespan.  Perhaps it will be shorter than my own.  ;)

Edit to add:  I'm 58 now.  I started getting hit at age 13.

Seems mostly the lenght of PF time increases, for mine  it was 1.5 year, and the start of the cycle was switching between fall and spring , and this time it started after 23 months ( around 2 years) , again in fall , perhaps considering the above postes we have a hope to have the longer PF times,except otherwise you change to the Chronic with unknown reason.

Thanks to all of you for the replies. I have never met anyone with CH… just migraines.

A friend just said the other day that it was so sad that I did not know of anyone with CH. Now I do.

I'm in cycle now, been PF for over a year, it's the longest spell of remission i've had.
