I read an old thread about Inositol.  I have had clusters for over 20 years and also suffer from ocd and anxiety. I have been using oxygen for the clusters, which has been great.  This past summer, I started taking Inositol for my ocd.  I am now in a cycle of clusters and have noticed that they have not been as bad as in the past.  This is the first time in 20 years they have not reached high numbers on the kip scale.  I'm wondering if there is a correlation with the Inositol.  Has anyone else experienced this?

This one is so old that it's not mentioned in association with headache for ages. The most current meds for Cluster are reviewed in the PDF file below. Suggest you print copies for you and any doc you see--to see if they are up to date and to guid discussions about treatment options.

If at all possible, find a headache specialist. Far too many docs lack basic training and experience with Cluster. Too many have floundered for years before finding the skill they need.

LOCATING HEADACHE SPECIALIST

1. Yellow Pages phone book: look for "Headache Clinics" in the M.D. section and look under "neurologist" where some docs will list speciality areas of practice.

2.  Call your hospital/medical center. They often have an office to assist in finding a physician. You may have to ask for the social worker/patient advocate.

They will send a list of M.D.s for your state.I suggest using this source for several reasons: first, we have read several messages from people who, even seeing neurologists, are unhappy with the quality of care and ATTITUDES they have encountered; second, the clinical director of the Jefferson (Philadelphia) Headache Clinic said, in late 1999, that upwards of 40%+ of U.S. doctors have poor training in treating headache and/or hold attitudes about headache ("hysterical female disorder") which block them from sympathetic and effective work with the patient; third, it's necessary to find a doctor who has experience, skill, and a set of attitudes which give hope of success. This is the best method I know of to find such a physician.

5. It is also, from my understanding, used to cut illicit street drugs and as a stand-in for cocaine in the movies and on TV (because of its powdery texture and the fact that it's only about 50% as sweet as sucrose).

I've never seen anyone post about that medication, but who knows! One of the most frustrating aspects of CH is it's constant morphing, leaving it's sufferers always wondering how much their treatment/life style is affecting the beast, and how much is entirely coincidence!

Glad to hear you're havieg an easier go round this cycle, hoping it ends soon for ya.
