Title: In Cycle and Sick.
Post by Carl D on Feb 27th, 2013 at 9:27am
Pardon me while I whine for a few...

...ok, now that I am done with that...
Went back into cycle a few weeks ago, but haven't been able to bust for 2 reasons: first, I had to wait until the steroids worked their way out of my system from back injections and also R.A. injections. By the time that happened, I got sick - and have been sick for a month now.
Fever seems to have finally broken, but they had the fear I might catch pneumonia so, am back on antibiotics for the next week. Maybe then, I can break this cycle.

What has been odd is, I'm not getting hit like I normally do. It isn't 'clockwork' like my last cycle which, is the first cycle in decades where I could actually find a pattern of getting hit. Right now, I am skipping 2-3 days at a time, and the number of hits have been low.
The only thing I have to attribute this to is Batch's D3 regimen, as I have been taking it for R.A. for a couple of years now, but jacked up the doses on everything once I learned about it. So while it did not prevent my cycle from occurring, I am certain it has taken some steam away from the CH beast. I plan on getting my D3 levels checked to see if I can go up any higher on it, and if not, will be busting soon anyway.

The MAIN concern at the moment is getting rid of this damned chest cold. A bit worried it could turn into pneumonia, but have cancelled band rehearsal for this evening, and staying out of the cold as much as possible.

So it could be much worse: I could be this sick and be getting hit day and night. Right now though, I consider myself lucky. Now, if I can just get rid of the bastage completely, I'll feel even luckier!

Carl,
Sorry to hear you are sick. When I get sick it seems to keep the beast at bay. So it is possible that when you get better it will go back to normal, but we all hope not. Also each cycle can be different than the last.

Believe it or not, my chest cold developed into pneumonia about a week and a half ago... and then cleared up within a few days. They put me on a hardcore antibiotic, and I was doing 4 breathing treatments a day.
Or as I call them, "Breathing For Jitters!"  :D

Cycle has been light and weird. Am going sometimes up to 5-7 days without an attack and then get 2 in one day. Sleeping all night. Well, except last night. Woke up in agony with my legs and back hurting... finally calmed down a bit.

What has me worried is... I normally get my CH's on the right, but the last two cycles have been on the left (I have switched sides since 1995 and, my old neuro at MHNI confirmed that it is rare, but does happen.)
The oddity is, I have a clusterbump on BOTH sides right now. A little sore knot has started on the right side so, am wondering if that is a sign they are about to start back up on the right.

Today is the first band rehearsal in well over a month so, I hope to get a nap in beforehand.

Carl
