Title: Weather in connecting to ch attacks Post by Globi on Mar 7th, 2013 at 9:47am
I just spoke to one of the doctors treating me. I am doing not too well at the moment. She told me more of her patient say the same. We all feel a bit it has to do with weather as well. It's changing a lot lately in Holland. Raining, freezing, warmer.....
Next to this i find that eating (or preparing a meal) many times is a trigger. |

Quite a few people have posted that "changing" weather has been a trigger for them. Moreso it seems when a big weather front is moving in. That's one of those triggers that hasn't bit me yet.

This is very interesting! I had a few isolated CH before I actually went into a cycle - a couple in the spring and during the summer. They were just one on any given day and then didn't necessarily repeat and had pretty varying KIP (mostly pretty low, never above 6).
At the time, I was certain it was weather changes. They always occurred when barometric pressure was rising or falling rapidly. I blamed it on sinuses. Then, of course, I got lucky and started getting them multiple times every day at much higher KIP in October! Still, that is the start of fall where I live and I wonder if changing weather again triggered my cycle. Fascinating thought. Perhaps I just need to find a place to live where the weather never changes! |

For over 20 years they were like clockwork. 2 cycles a year spring and fall, 8-12 week cycles, generally 2 hits a day, mid mornining and early evening. I've never been able to pin any triggers on the weather, lifestyle changes, etc.

The worst of all is people who do not understand your pain. For sure you know this as well. "i have headaches as well......i know your pain...." I do not drink a lot. If i have a hangover the headache is nothing. Kind regards, Globi |

That's why I hang out here so much...especially in cycle...it's nice to have a group of peeps that need no explanation! Hoping you catch a break soon.

Extreme weather changes have always been a trigger for me. It makes a lot of sense because the hypothalamus reacts to changes in temperature. Also, changes in the amount of sunlight we get do effect the metabolism of serotonin, melatonin and testosterone (probably through changes in D3), all of which connected to CH.
